Virus Alerts

It's really important to use Windows Update regularly now. A lot of vulnerabilities are appearing that hackers can use to get data like credit card numbers stored on your computer. If you don't have the latest updates, your especially vulnerable. Usually Microsoft releases new updates, or "patches" on the second Tuesday of each month, unless the patch is really critical.

Current virus alerts (If you see "high" risk, this is a major virus and you should take extra care when using email and be sure your antivirus software has the latest virus updates.) 


 

Viruses and privacy:

If you don't have antivirus software on your computer, you can still do a free online virus scan.

Shields UP! is a useful tool to help you test your internet connections security. Click on the "Probe My Ports!" button to begin the brief test. If you don't understand the results, you can print the results page and show them to the people at a computer store.
