This is a sample of insulation. It's called a Vacupor® VIP (Vacuum
Insulation Panel) made by Porextherm
in Germany. The panels are extremely light and easy to work with.
Also, inside some of the walls is the use of microencapsulated
paraffin, which can store heat.
These semitransparent solar panels generate electricity, shade the
interior of the house from too much heat gain from direct sunlight in the
summer, and look great.
This
storage drawer slides out into the sunken TV viewing area when needed.
These louvered panels contain lots of attractive photovoltaic (PV)
strips which are controlled by servo motors to aim them at the best
angle toward the sun.
The overall result is a home that looks clean and attractive.
