Toyota has announced it will begin producing hybrid vehicles  in the US. Toyota President Fujio Cho made the announcement at the North American Auto Show in Detroit. But plans have not been finalized, and Toyota has announced which model or models will be produced here. By mid year, Toyota hopes to decide which model would make most sense to produce in the US.

Currently, all hybrids made by Toyota are produced in Japan.
