Highly recommended for hearing aids:

Auditory Services in Silver Spring, MD

(There's a surprising number of charletains out there.) Some insurance plans are starting ot cover hearing aids. So be sure to check your plan; if it didn't cover it last year, it might now. Consumer Checkbook's ratings of hearing aid dispensers (you'll need to subscribe, or many libraries carry electonic versions of old issues in the reference section.) Consumer Checkbook also has ratings for eye care providers, dentists, plumbers, etc.




You may be able to get big discounts on hearing aids (up to 65% savings), dental services and eyeglasses. Look for a program like this excellent one offered to Fairfax County residents.


Guide to Retirement Living is a very comprehensive resource guide. The Metro DC edition is over 200 pages; and it's FREE!

Senior Beacon is a great free monthly publication. Distributed free around the area. Also paid subscriptions are available; call 301.949.9766

 

Koons Ford in Annapolis, MD has a special Mobility Center. Typically they have 30 or more vans in stock. They have not only Fords, but Dodge and Toyota mobility vans as well. They may have used models, too.
