Quantum-Touch is a system of energy healing that's similar to Reiki. Energy is directed into the patients body through the palms of the healers hands. The practice seems to stimulate the patients own healing processes. Where it differs from Reiki is in the use of specific breathing techniques, body awareness meditations and specific hand positions.

The effects seem much more profound than Reiki. Some Reiki practitioners term Quantum-Touch (or QT) as "turbocharging the Reiki". The author feels that QT is complementary to other forms of bodywork and many practitioners from other fields are using in addition to modalities like acupressure, massage and chiropractic.

Richard Gordon gives an example of a woman named Margery at a demonstration in Los Angeles:

"I was actually quite shocked when I saw her spine. Every vertebra was severely misaligned...

I began to run energy into her spine. I would work on one vertebra at a time, spend a minute or two there, and then move down to the next and do the same thing. after about fifteen minutes people in the group started making comments to the effect, "Is this looking better, or is that my imagination?" Another fifteen or twenty minutes later, I started to hear comments like , "I am pretty sure it is looking better now." It appeared that the bones were gradually finding a more aligned position. After the next fifteen minutes the comments started sounding like "Oh my God, it is so much better!" By the end of an hour and fifteen minutes, we were all completely amazed.

I could hardly believe my eyes. Every vertebra in Margery's spine was now in a straight line."

This is one of the situations where QT seems to have the most profound results.

The author really wants others to learn this technique. So he jumps right in and starts instructing how to learn it. He says that most people can learn it, in as little as a day. He feels that healing is an ability we were all born with.

Quantum-Touch is catching the attention of leaders in more traditional forms of healing because of the profound results that people are experiencing. Dr. C. Norman Shealy, M.D., the founder of the Shealy Institute for Comprehensive Health Care has been trained in it. He comments that "Quantum-Touch appears to be the first technique that truly allows us all to become healers."
