MOM's
in Alexandria is helping keep clear, blue, skies. They buy 100% of
their electricity from renewable sources.
If
you haven't been to
MOM's Organic Market, you really should check them out. This
store
just keeps getting better and
better. The store's
buyers have continued to find hard to find items in many product
categories. The nutritional supplement selection is outstanding. They
have one of the better "grab a healthy meal" selections you'll find, in
the refrigerated cases, including yummy vegetarian and vegan
sandwiches.
They are carrying full vegetarian meals made by The Vegetable Garden in
Rockville, and the prices are only about $6-7 for a huge serving.
Their selection of
pet foods with only "human grade" ingredients is outstanding, much
better than other health food stores and about as good as the best
small specialty pet
supply
stores. Their bulk foods are a great way to get the best value in a
time when everyone wants good value. Plus, bulk foods are a great way
to buy a small quantity of something to see if you like it or not.
MOM's tend to have
newer products that you might not see elsewhere: things like veggie
burgers made from rice (for folks that don't want soy), or non-dairy
creamer made from almonds. If you, or your child, are on a very
restrictive diet, you may find some welcome additions to your diet.
This
is a really
fun place to shop. Check them out.
