This will have a 5.0 liter V8 engine, producing
a total of over 430 HP, including the electric drive. Mileage figures
aren't available yet, but upper 20's seems likely.
This won't be the third generation
hybrid that enthusiasts are waiting for. That will likely come with
the next generation Prius. Lexus will give a new designation,
Lexus Hybrid Drive, to distinguish it from Hybrid Synergy Drive used
in Toyota models.
The car is expected to receive a
Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) rating. If you want the
cleanest possible car, look for a PZEV rating (Partial Zero Emissions
Vehicle). These include the
Toyota Prius,
Honda Civic Hybrid
and the
Ford Escape Hybrid.
The price is likely to be a little over $100,000.
