Co housing and Intentional Communities Near Washington DC

For a lot of reasons (getting back to nature, reducing stress, focusing on spirituality, living more simply, etc.) a lot of people might be interested in a different way of living. Co housing and intentional communities offer that. There are a few within driving distance of DC.

Paramahansa Yogananda, the author of Autobiography of a Yogi, spoke about intentional communities decades ago. He said "gather together, those of you who share high ideals. Pool your resources. Buy land out in the country. A simple life will bring you inner freedom. Harmony with nature will bring you a happiness known to few city dwellers. In the company of other truth seekers it will be easier for you to meditate and think of God. Some of his followers have formed the Ananda communities, some of the most successful communities yet. You can read more about Yogananda's ideas about "World Brotherhood Communities" and the Ananda communities.
