Resources for the Washington DC area

Earth Day 2004 saw several events around the DC area. One was at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, VA.

The weather was perfect and quite a pretty good crowd showed up.

Computer recycling was provided by Keep It Green c/o ServiceSource, Inc. All these used computers and monitors were collected in just the first hour. Monitor recyling is particularly important because CRT type monitors can contain several pounds of lead. You can recycle used computer equipment through Keep It Green year round; They're at 6295 Edsall Road, Alexandria, VA 703.461.6000 (Note: they do charge a processing fee of $10.00 for monitors due to the difficulties in handling the toxic materials.)
