A new study by Harris
Interactive AUTOTECHCAST indicates strong public acceptance of hybrid vehicles.
The survey asked 14,426 drivers about their awareness of and interest in various
new automotive technologies. Forty percent responded that they were "Likely to
Purchase on Next Vehicle" a hybrid vehicle.
In general, the survey showed a
strong interest in new auto safety technologies and greater fuel economy. Sixty
three percent said they are likely to purchase a new vehicle with enhanced fuel
economy, if they have the option, in their next vehicle purchase.
The survey was conducted in
November, 2004.
