Ward's Automotive has named the
new hybrid engine used in the Honda Accord as one of the ten best engines for
2005.
The engine uses
cylinder-deactivation (Variable Cylinder Management) to increase fuel economy.
Honda also uses the Integrated Motor Assist hybrid design to achieve
improvements in both power and efficiency. The engine produces 15 more
horsepower than the conventional Honda V6, but has increased fuel efficiency of
38% in the city and 23% on the highway.
This is the 11th year for the
Ward's 10 Best Engines program; the award is highly anticipated in the
automotive field.
